The Groove Jazz Internet Airplay Chart represents the 30 most popular titles on Internet radio, as monitored from the
Chart rankings are determined by airplay detections across all stations monitored by the Radiowavesystem.
Titles below the Top 30 are sent to 'Recurrent' status after 30 weeks, and are no longer eligible to chart.
Sade's "Soldier Of Love" is back in the #1 spot with a huge 88 spin increase. The track is dominating terrestrial radio and seems to be heading in the same direction online.
Only one new entry into this week's Top 5: "Retro Boy" by Richard Elliot, which moves from #6 to #4.
Other big gainers on the chart are "Ritmo de Otono" by Bernie Williams featuring Dave Koz, up 42 spins to move from #5 to #2; Lawson Rollins' "Moonlight Samba" (+65); "Retro Boy" (+27); Najee's "Sweet Summer Nights" (+28); and "Nikki's Walk" by Jeff Golub (+20).
Groove Jazz Music Top 30 Recurrent Rules:
1) A song on the chart for 20 weeks that is at chart position #15 or lower becomes recurrent.
2) A song on the chart for 20 weeks that is down in spins three weeks in a row regardless of chart position becomes recurrent
Sade's "Soldier Of Love" is #1 for the fifth straight week and approaching 400 spins. But this week's increase for the track is only 7 spins so hitting that benchmark is not a given.
The two big gainers this week, though, were "Brother Earl" by Paul Brown & Marc Antoine (#16, +45) and Chris Standring's "Bossa Blue" (#27, +46).
Both of those tracks were also the only two debuts this week.
